How To Invite Jesus into Your Life

If you want your sins forgiven, if you want that void deep inside of you filled, and if you want to know that when you die, you will go to heaven, you can make a commitment to Jesus Christ right now by saying a prayer like this one:

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sin.  I repent of it and turn to you by faith right now.  I thank you for dying on the cross for me and paying the price for all of my sins.  I ask you to come into my life right now and be my Savior, my Lord, and my Friend.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit.  Help me to be your disciple from this moment forward.  Thank you, Lord.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

or

"Lord Jesus, I need You.  Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins.  I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord.  Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.  Take control of the throne of my life.  Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

The key is that the prayer should express the desire of your heart - not just what someone told you or what you have read.  If the prayer does this, Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

Thank God often that Christ is in your life and that He will never leave you.  You can know on the basis of His promise that Christ lives in you and that you have eternal life, from the very moment you invite Him in.

Hebrews 13:15  "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
"Never will I leave you;  never will I forsake you."
1 John 5:11-13  "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He who has the Son has
life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

Do NOT depend on feelings - the promise of God's word, the Bible - not our feelings - is our authority.  The Christian lives by faith (trust) in the trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word - this is our lead car or locomotive - God is fact.  Our faith is our trust in god and His Word.  Our feelings are the caboose.  The train will run with or without the caboose.  It is futile to lead the train with the caboose.  We do not depend on feelings or emotions, but we place our faith (trust) in God and His Promises for the Word.

John 14:21  "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by
my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
