What is a Soul, Anyway?
The real you is not just the physical body you are living in right now. The real you - the part that is eternal - is your soul. God created you as a living being, uniquely made in His own image. He also planted eternity in the human heart - a sense that there is indeed more to life. That's why your own pursuits, achievements, and pleasures will never quite fill that void within.
Jesus once asked this probing question: "Is anything worth more than your soul?" Most people aren't aware they have a soul, much less that it has any intrinsic value. Instead, they're preoccupied with the way they look and feel, as well as with what they possess. Yet all of this will be gone someday. What really matters - the human soul, the eternal - is often ignored or even spurned.
