Kiki Vandeweghe of the Denver Nuggets
"Vision training brought me back to peak performance.  You can enhance a key skill to a higher level than by practicing or playing your sport."

Basketball related Vision Problems

  • Being short or long on shots
  • Difficulty passing the ball accurately
  • Inconsistent play
  • Not knowing where you are in relation to your teammates or opponents
  • Poor free throw shooting
  • Dropping passes thrown to you
  • Difficulty putting the ball on the floor and moving around an opponent

Samples of Basketball related Vision Therapy

  • Exercise to develop concentration and more accurate head movement.
Take a pair of goggles or glasses and put tape around the periphery of the lenses or eyepieces.

Play with them on for 15 minutes and then remove.
When the glasses are removed, peripheral vision is enhanced.
  • Exercise to improve free throw shooting

Dim the lights in the gym and have players shoot foul shots with a strobe light flickering.

They must ignore the visual noise.
  • Exercise to improve reaction times

Dim lights and have players pass the ball with the strobe light flickering.

This forces the players to take in more information in a short period of time.
