Lids & Lashes

The eye lids and lashes provide a protective mechanism for the eye.  The lids can droop or not close, they can have bumps and be bruised and inflamed.  The eye can protrude from underneath.  Lashes can fall out,  change color and shorten.  Needless to say, the lids and lashes are a very important component of a thorough eye exam.

The following links give information about a number of eyelid and lash diseases.

Treatment of lid problems is often accomplished with medication, surgery, warm compresses and/or lid scrubs.
