Progressives     (No Line Bifocals)

These lenses provide all the benefits of bifocals but add the feature of continuous clear vision at all distances, including mid-range distance (arm’s length).   Progressives have the cosmetic advantage of appearing to be single vision lenses so they never reveal the user wears bifocals. Progressives are available in all lens materials and are made in aspheric form. Because of their many benefits, they are becoming the lens of choice for bifocal and trifocal wearers.

We use a good, better, best approach with progressives. There are a number of manufacturers of these wonderful lenses. Our criteria are optical clarity throughout the lens, corridor length and width.

Our best lens for a progressive is the Gradal® Top from Carl Zeiss. These lenses are designed with to provide the best comfort, easiest adaptation and, above all, perfect vision. They have patented horizontal symmetry and a 33% wider progressive zone.  This means vision is clear and natural.

The lens also looks good because of aspherically designed progressive surfaces which allow for a extremely flat curvature. This is truly a great lens and very comfortable to wear.

Next up is the Varilux® Comfort progressive lens. This reliable and proven leader has made its mark over the last several years. Aside from the Zeiss line, Varilux has no equals. It is a very good progressive lens with a great track record.

A good standard progressive is the Sola VIP. This lens is several years old and has stood the test of time. The VIP has wonderful straight ahead optics and the near zone is wider than most other progressives.
