Taylor Reading Plus System
This has
proven to be a wonderful system to increase reading
fluency, vocabulary and
comprehension ability. The core components are called PAVE, Guided
Reading, Reading Around Words, CLOZE-Plus, and Comprehension Power.
PAVE
develops visual/functional efficiency
and perceptual accuracy -- basic requisites for fluent silent reading and all
learning and vocational needs. It helps to develop
attention/concentration,
improved visual skills, effective directional
attack, strong visual memory
Guided Reading
develops fluency (efficiency) in the most basic
reading processes resulting in ease and comfort, adequate reading rates and
improved comprehension. (338 Reading Selections). It
develops the Fundamental Reading Process.
Reading Around Words
expands word
knowledge through structured contextal analysis strategies. (over 2,000
Vocabulary Lessons) Varied contextual analysis
strategies are provided:
