Treatment Options We have many options for treatment at Agape Optometry Center. Classically, it would be thought that this section would only include information about glasses or contact lenses. However this is not the case today. Areas of treatment include eye disease, refractive problems, vision correction and vision therapy. Eye disease treatment is dependent on the proper diagnosis. Information on diagnosis is available on another page. Treatment options can be broken down to the following areas:
Refractive problems include near & farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia. Treatment includes eyeglasses (lenses & frames) and contact lenses. Vision correction of refractive problems can be accomplished in several ways. These include orthokeratology, laser vision, and visual biofeedback. Many ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and retinitis pigmentosa can be helped by nutritional intervention. Finally, there is our specialty, vision therapy. Therapy can be used for a multitude of difficulties including crossed eyes, lazy eye, eye tracking problems, visual fatigue, concentration difficulties, sports performance enhancement and visual consequences from traumatic brain injury (such as strokes and car accidents). Visual ergonomics is also very important to minimize eye strain and fatigue. This can include lighting, posture and computer screen height and distance recommendations.
